Like the irreverent artist that he is, Marcel Wanders creates objects that read like translations of his dreams, furniture conceived to create surprise and cause emotions. Conversation with a visionnaire, direct and charming, who speaks his mind through his designs.

He’s been a part of the Droog Design conceptual design collective and founded Moooi, a brand for which he now acts as Art Director; their highly anticipated collections present, year after year, contemporary designs with an unexpected baroque twist. A design concept intended as pure creative expression, with an ambition to achieve both fantasy and functionality.
From his Amsterdam studio he drums up his visions for international brands such as B&B Italia, Cappellini and Flos. Amongst his most iconic designs one remembers the Stone stool for Kartell, essential but precious, and the VIP Chair for Moooi, a steel chair which is transformed into a throne straight out of a fairytale.
