Who Is On Next is AltaRoma’s prestigious showcase of fashion’s top emerging talents, in collaboration with Vogue Italia. Again this year they chose to pair up with yoox.com, their online retail & media partner, whose very own special mention was awarded to the most “cutting edge” amongst the finalists; a win that guarantees the lucky winner worldwide exposure with a preview of their S/S 2011 collection due to land on the website in September. The finalists for this sixth edition were: Rosa Clandestino, Erkan Çoruh, MSGM, Dmajuscule, Elisa Palomino, Gail Sorronda and Bragia for the prêt-à-porter, Jerome C. Rousseau, Arnoldo e Battois and Claudio Montias Milano for the accessories. The results were announced on Saturday, July 10th: Erkan Çoruh together with both Jérôme C Rousseau and Claudio Montias for the accessories. yoox.com’s Special Mention was awarded to French-Canadian designer Jerome C. Rousseau for his cutting-edge collection, which has already been seen gracing the A-list feet of such red carpet divas as Charlize Theron and Katie Holmes. The subsequent reward might not fit on a trophy shelf but it is all the more exciting for it: the capsule footwear collection will be exclusively available for purchase online at the very same time of its presentation during the next Milan Fashion Week in September, as was the case last year with Leitmotiv, the fabulously whimsical duo whose clothing was sold through a world-acclaimed virtual runway show on yoox.com. Yet another example of yoox.com promoting young talents. Save the date for Jérôme’s collection launch, due in September. Expect much dance music; it was the main source of inspiration behind ultra-feminine designs, which are both sophisticated and unconventional. All in all it seems international creativity and savoir-faire Made In Italy are the true winners of this 2010 edition of Who Is On Next.
