London Fashion Week opens with an event dedicated to avant-garde designers, who share an eco-friendly attitude and translate it into a mix of very different looks. Eco-fashion becomes a synonymous of innovation and experimentation, as well as glamour, assures top-model Lily Cole.
Supported by British Fashion Council and organized by three Italian curators – Orsola de Castro, Filippo Ricci and Anna Orsini – Estethica highlights and confirms the concept of Tamsin Blanchard’s book: “Green is The New Black”. From the couture flair of From Somewhere, founded by the curators themselves, which takes materials like lace and wool from high-fashion brands to blend them in a surprising way, to the wool scarves and hats by The North Circular, knitted by British local communities and promoted by top-model Lily Cole, who has been an eco-fashion spokesperson for quite a while.

The deconstructed tailoring of Junky Styling and the new green sportswear designed by Christopher Raeburn stand out. For those who would rather go for glamour and experimentation, Goodone mini-dresses and evening gowns made of vegetarian silk by Ivana Basilotta will show the new sex-appeal of ethical fashion.
