Poetry, emotion, craftsmanship: in an exclusive video interview, the designer from Alghero talks about his creative vision and personal style, passion for his native Sardinia and for the cinema, and his relationship with fashion.
The cult of tradition, but also of experimentation, characterizes the “Laboratorio” collection: the designer describes it as “not really prêt-à-porter, not really couture”. Every single item has been created, designed and developed in his workshop-home in Alghero, Sardinia, where Antonio Marras was born and where all his collections come to life, taking his “Made in Italy” around the world. Despite being the Creative Director of the French label Kenzo, he still lives in Alghero and considers this town his source of inspiration. Is it an emotional choice? Antonio Marras opens up with The New Yooxer, admitting it may be, but there are also other reasons: there is much more to find out about Marras’ world.
