Tim Walker – the Photographer of Wonders

One of Vogue’s most prized fashion photographers has arrived in Milan with the exhibition “Pictures”: a collection of those extravagant images that have rendered him one of the world’s most recognizable and renowned talents.
Born in 1970 in England, his passion for photography was ignited while working at the archives of Cecil Beaton. After studying photography at the Exeter College of Art, he immediately began working as Richard Avedon’s assistant. At the age of 25, he shot his very first fashion story for Vogue and by now his collaboration with the American, British and Italian editions of the magazine is considered legendary.
Already featured at London’s Design Museum, his career is currently being celebrated at Milan’s Galleria Carla Sozzani. His extraordinary images fall somewhere between realism and fantasy, dreamy and yet perfectly realistic. Once seen, his fairy-tale world – dramatic, elegant, and ironic – is unforgettable.
The exhibition lasts until March 7th at the Galleria Carla Sozzani / Corso Como 10, Milan.
Entrance is free.
