Halloween Cool at Berlin’s “Musical Paintings”:
A night passed among music, art, and fashion.

Until December 13th 2008, the ScheiblerMitte gallery in Berlin plays host to the Musical Paintings collective, an art exhibition that conceptually represents a rarefied balance between audio and visual perception.

On the night of October 31st, we were invited to an exclusive Halloween Party attended by key players from the art, music and fashion worlds.
Among the evening’s guests was the trend-setter Malcolm McLaren, who is in Berlin with his video exhibition,
“Shallow” 1-21.

During the party, YOOX.COM captured the most alternative, eye-catching looks from Berlin’s artistic scene.

Malcolm McLaren has been a pop cultural icon for over thirty years. He is probably best recognized for his work in melding fashion with music, to express, in his words, “the look of music and the sound of fashion”. He got his start in the early 1970s when he opened his legendary shop on the King’s Road in London with then-partner, Vivienne Westwood, creating looks to style the Punk Generation and inspire legions of fashion designers. Alongside the rule-breaking outfits, McLaren founded, managed and art directed the legendary punk band, the Sex Pistols. In 2003, McLaren discovered yet another new musical genre, the first of the 21st century: Micromusic, or Chip Music. This music is the inspiration behind Fashionbeast and was launched in 2005 exclusively for YOOX.COM.
