“Mistycool” is the theme of the second Capsule Collection that Andrea Rosso, the Creative Director of 55DSL, has chosen to produce together with the graphic artist Calvin Kwok, finalist of the contest “Cut&Paste”: the first contest dedicated to Digital 2D Design, and its final round will take place in New York, where the international winner will be chosen.
Andrea Rosso explains his choice in choosing to work with Kwok: “We appreciated the irony and contrasts present in Calvin’s work. When we get the feeling of being trapped in our own small universe, we push ourselves ahead in order to approach the graphic world from a completely new, unconventional perspective. Calvin’s artistic vision is completely compatible with the 55DSL style.”

The Capsule Collection’s theme is MISTYCOOL, a dreamlike, surreal world inhabited by mythical characters from Calvin’s own imagination, along with distinct pop culture influences. The men’s collection features two T-shirts, one hooded sweatshirt and one crewneck; the women’s collection is comprised of two T-shirts, a sweatshirt and a dress. Two other additional items – a pair of sunglasses XV created in collaboration with Safilo and Vasava x 55DSL x Atom Plastic Señor Blanco Art Toy – have been especially produced in honor of the brand’s 15th anniversary.
