Speaking of Weddings
Tying the knot has become something of a fashion phenomenon: most Italian designers, including Alberta Ferretti, Giorgio Armani, Anna Molinari and Dolce & Gabbana, have decided to design their own bridal collections. Film too has celebrated the timeless appeal of weddings and all its routine rituals and glitches, like in “Bride Wars” and “The Wedding Planner”. Hollywood celebrities and tourists from abroad often choose Italy as their wedding venue, and in Italy the wedding planner has recently become a recognized profession. But the real protagonist is Made in Italy exclusivity: high-quality and beautiful craftsmanshipfrom Apulia is beautifully illustrated by the crochet embroidery on Giovanna Sbiroli’s dress, the Swarovski embellishments on the design by Azzurra Collezione and the light veils of the Bellantuono gown. One may go for an Italian-style marriage – with the same passion and intrigues in the Vittorio De Sica movie starring Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni – or choose an opulent eccentric ceremony fit for a diva: whatever the choice, the dress should be one-of-a-kind and the man perfect, if possible.
