BRIDE WARS
The film tells the story of Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anne Hathaway), two best friends from childhood and now young women on verge of fulfilling the dream they’ve had since they were young: getting married in the luxurious Plaza Hotel – the only place for a chic New Yorker to celebrate the most important day of her life. But a logistical mix-up means that one of them is going to have to let the dream go: they’ve both booked the Plaza for their weddings on the very same day. Thus begins a war of wills and female strategies between Liv, a successful lawyer used to getting what she wants, and Emma, a schoolteacher who has spent her life putting others before herself and who soon discovers that she has a ruthless side.
These two best friends, who would have done anything for each other, now will stop at nothing to ruin the other’s wedding plans. Can friendship survive the bride wars? Find out for yourself…
KATE HUDSON Filmography
Kate Hudson was born on April 19th in Los Angeles to Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, although she considers her mother’s longtime companion Kurt Russel as her true father figure. Kate made her film debut with “200 Cigarettes”, the story of a group of friends in New York that try to make their way to a party in Martha Plimpton’s East Village loft.
The following year she played Richard Gere’s lesbian daughter in “Doctor T and the Women” by Robert Altman. It was her work in that film that landed her the coveted role in Cameron Crowe’s “Almost Famous” in 2001, which is what launched her career: the part earned her an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award.
She then co-starred in the romantic comedy “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” alongside Matthew McConaughey, playing the part of a ruthless journalist who sets out to seduce and win over a man in only 10 days, for the sake of an article. In 2002 she starred in the period drama, “The Four Feathers”, set in England in 1882 during the war in Sudan. 2003 saw the charming “Alex & Emma”, in which Kate plays the stenographer Emma who has to help – even creatively – the writer Alex Sheldon complete a novel in a month, to pay off a gambling debt. Her comedy work continued in 2006 with “You, Me and Dupree” directed by Anthony Russo, in 2008 with “My Best Friend’s Girl” alongside Lizzy Caplan and Alec Baldwin, and then in 2009 with “Bride Wars” together with Anne Hathaway. 2010 will see the release of the film “The Killer Inside Me”, a thriller by Simon Baker in which Kate not only appears as a brunette, but shows a darker side of herself.
