Pitti wall

Pitti People is the place to be at Pitti Immagine in Florence, and it transforms this event into a gigantic photo shoot. Bloggers and roving reporters will capture the most interesting visitor looks on film and use these photos to create the Pitti Wall installation, from June 16th to 19th. As its name suggests, this installation is a 100-metre long wall which will be filled with new images as the days go by.
To create this vast, creative collage, bloggers will hunt down looks for the event in a frantic street scavenger hunt. For the occasion, Pitti becomes a mirror that reflects the aesthetic imagery of a community gathered in Florence in the name of fashion, and focuses on the blogger phenomenon, as bloggers are increasingly not only observers of trends, but true opinionistas of style. From all over the world, the Pitti public is rushing to Florence to discover the new men’s 2010 Spring-Summer collections and the women’s pre-season collections. The public is united and recognises itself caught on film in a series of casual portraits among the stands at the fair, or in the photos shot from the wings of the catwalks. At the same time, the perimeter of the wall-installation will become a spot to rest, where anyone can contribute to the photo wall by adding their own images. Pitti has thereby chosen to create a sort of work-in-progress, a way to see and be seen, view and admire the ability to express one’s self through fashion. The following bloggers will be among all of those participating in the initiative, by taking photos for the wall and giving a preview of their own photos to The New Yooxer: Stefano Guerrini, Simona Tamassia and Daniele Mari, Tamu McPherson, Luca Bortolotti, Silvia Bergomi and Jacopo Volpe.
